Access to Information

The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) is a public body subject to the Act Respecting Access to Documents Held by Public Bodies and the Protection of Personal Information In observance of this law, the Musée complies with the will of the legislator to provide greater transparency to citizens, in particular by applying the regulations in the Règlement sur la diffusion de l'information et sur la protection des renseignements personnels, which require that public bodies make a variety of documents available on their web site.

Several documents concerning the Musée, including annual reports, are available in the Institutional Profile section. In addition to this information, in the present section the MNBAQ makes various other documents of interest concerning the organization and administration of the Musée available to the public.

In accordance with article 4 of the above-mentioned regulation, persons wishing to obtain information not yet available on the MNBAQ web site may, in accordance with the Act, submit an access to information request to the Musée.

The Act also recognizes the right of citizens, in addition to their right to obtain access to documents, to obtain access to personal information concerning them and to correct this information if it is inaccurate, incomplete or questionable, or if the collection, communication or storing of this information is not authorized under the Act.

HOW TO MAKE AN ACCESS TO INFORMATION REQUEST


All requests to correct or obtain access to a document or to information must be submitted, by mail, facsimile or e-mail, to the person responsible for access to information and the protection of personal information:

To be admissible, a request for access to a document or to information must be precise enough for it to be located.

Although an access request can be made verbally, only a decision in response to a written request can be reviewed by the Commission d’accès à l’information.

A charge may be levied for the reproduction of documents.

CLASSIFICATION PLAN

The classification plan enables the public to better understand the structure of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec’s activities. The Musée’s records are classified according to this plan, which facilitates the identification of documents which are not available on its web site. These documents are accessible through an access request.

INVENTORY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION FILES

The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec holds an inventory of personal information files in its possession, in accordance with the Loi sur l’accès aux documents des organismes publics et sur la protection des renseignements personnels.

By virtue of article 67.3 of the Loi sur l’accès aux documents des organismes publics et sur la protection des renseignements personnels, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec keeps a registry of the personal information it collects, communicates or uses for ends other than those for which it was initially collected.

INFORMATION CONCERNING CONTRACTS

Information made available concerning contracts meets the objective of the government of Québec to make visible in a more transparent manner the processes by which contracts are attributed, how public monies are put to good use and how competitors are treated impartially.


To obtain information about contracts entered into by the Musée, whose publication is mandated by article 22 of the Loi sur les contrats des organismes publics, consult the Système électronique d’appel d’offres (SEAO). .
