Philippe de Champaigne (.mw-parser-output.IPA-label-small{font-size:85%}.mw-parser-output.references.IPA-label-small,.mw-parser-output.infobox.IPA-label-small,.mw-parser-output.navbox.IPA-label-small{font-size:100%} French pronunciation: [ʃɑ̃paɲ] ; 26 May 1602 – 12 August 1674) was a Brabant -born French [ 1 ] Baroque era painter, a major exponent of the French school. He was a founding member of the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture in Paris, the premier art institution in the Kingdom of France in the eighteenth century.
