Universal accessibility

We offer free admission on request for people with disabilities and their companions.

We believe in community involvement and are pleased to offer the Accès-Musée program to recognized non-profit community organizations.

To benefit from this program, your organization must meet the following three (3) conditions:  

• Be a recognized non-profit organization (charter)  
• Work with clients who have specific or particular needs, or who consider themselves far removed from our cultural work  
• Register by filling in the organization registration form

Feel free to discuss your group’s needs with the head of reservations.

We reserve spaces for disabled parking permit holders at the Charles Baillairgé Pavilion and in the Saint-Dominique Church parking lot.

Our drop-off area is close to the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion entrance. It is easy to access and has enough clearance for paratransit and taxis.

Only certified guide dogs are welcome at the Musée. If you need a service dog, you can present your proof of certification at reception and enjoy your visit.  

There are elevators in all our pavilions, and all our galleries are fully wheelchair accessible.  

Wheelchairs and walkers are available free of charge. Don’t hesitate to ask at the cloakroom. We’re here to help!  

We are also accessible to people with multiple disabilities. Please contact us if you need more information or help ahead of your visit.

Ramps make it easy to enter the Musée and all exhibition rooms are fully wheelchair accessible. The Musée also provides wheelchairs free of charge (no reservations required).  

The Sandra and Alain Bouchard Auditorium is accessible to people with reduced mobility. There are four wheelchair spaces near the entrance on Floor 0, which has a large elevator nearby.  

People with disabilities and their companions can attend all Auditorium events for free. Simply call our box office at 418-643-2150 to reserve your place.  

We also offer four wider seats for larger people. If you need help finding these seats, please ask at the reception.  

Descriptive tours are specially designed for people with visual limitations. Their specially tailored approach helps you discover works of art by creating your own mental image.

You can call Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

We work with a specialized community organization to offer signed tours in Québec Sign Language (LSQ) for hearing-impaired people.

Our auditorium is equipped with a 72 MHz FM system, which sends sound from the stage directly to audience members’ hearing aids. This allows hearing-impaired people to better hear what’s happening on stage, whether it’s a concert or a conference.  

Do you need hearing assistance? Let us know what you need when you arrive. Our audiovisual technician can assist you and make sure you have the best experience possible.

We recognize that autistic children have unique needs, so we provide a kit with tactile objects, pencils, and an observation notebook. Borrowing this kit includes free admission for your family. Ask for your kit at reception!
