Secondary

An inspiring cultural experience for your students! We offer tours designed specifically to spark teenagers’ curiosity and encourage them to dive deeper. Through lively, open conversations, students are given space to share their feelings about the works, think about their worldviews, and explore new creative avenues. How do works of art resonate with us? What dialogues do they inspire with our times? As students share ideas, we help them hone their critical thinking skills and shape their imaginations.

This is a chance for young people to connect authentically with art. Each visit is a new opportunity for discussion, discovery, and emotion. In addition to discovering the unique architecture of the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion, they’ll get to develop their critical thinking skills by sharing their thoughts on topics related to the key works in our collection. Students will learn about paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts and design objects in this tour, which is available in French or English.

Who am I? What defines me? What makes me unique? A tour through the Us exhibition will give your students the chance to consider these questions and reflect on representations of the self and others as they admire works from different periods in Québec art history. Many artists explore themes linked to identity, and their interpretations will inspire students to create an artistic exploration of their own.

Accompanied by our guides, your students will discover the bright, colourful world of Niki de Saint Phalle (1930–2002), a daring artist who left her mark on contemporary art with her free spirit and profound dedication. They’ll take a journey through two decades of prolific creation that intertwine personal themes and social issues. Over the course of a participatory tour, students will encounter monumental works with powerful symbolism. Giant Nanas, tarot figures, and fantastical creatures will provide an experience that’s both playful and meaningful. It’s a unique opportunity to discover a creator who transformed art into a space for expression, resistance, and joy.

With the striking Hyperrealistic Sculpture exhibition, we encourage students to examine disturbingly realistic sculptures with a critical eye. Both familiar and strange, these human figures act as alter egos that reflect our natures. What do they reveal about us, our society, and the human condition? Our accessible and engaging philosophical approach will guide students to reflect on the major questions raised by these works crafted by international artists such as Ron Mueck, Duane Hanson, John DeAndrea, Maurizio Cattelan, and Québec artists like Stanley Février and Karine Payette.
