Nos echos 05

Nos Échos follows an artistic project led by Quebecois choreographer and cultural mediator Simon Ampleman and the Ample Man Danse team, created in Dieppe for the 80th anniversary of Operation Jubilee—the attempted Allied landing in occupied France on August 19, 1942.

Invited to create a performed work honoring this historical event, Ampleman gathers 40 volunteer citizens, aged 6 to 89, for a choreographed walking route presented during the official ceremonies. Over three weeks, participants put their daily lives on hold to fully immerse themselves in the creative process.

The film captures the individual and collective transformations that emerge from this experience, revealing art’s role as a vehicle for self-discovery, intergenerational connection, and poetic resonance. It tells the story of a group of strangers who, through creativity, discover the transformative power of art in their lives.
