Special event
A Celebrated Œuvre
Brought to you by the collective Les Femmes qui s'invitent, La danse des grand-mères embodies and questions relationships, aging, and passing things from generation to generation as they weave a personal, sensitive, relatable, and poetic tale.
During the performance at the Musée, the public will witness a long performative and danced journey that combines past, present, and future stories. Three duos of women of different ages dialogue with the visible and invisible relationship between them, and pay homage to other women who came before them.
Presented as part of the week-long A Celebrated Oeuvre event, which this year highlights the work of Suzanne Meloche, the performance resonates with the artist’s insightful look at the human condition and the passage of time.
Meloche’s work, marked by a profound attention to the fragility and continuity of existence, is echoed in La danse des grand-mères, where intergenerational sharing unfolds through motion. Together, poetry and dance celebrate the memory of women and the invisible ties that bind them and continue to bind us today.
