In Canada, any reproduction of a work by a living artist or by an artist deceased for less than 70 years must be authorized by the intellectual property rights holder (the artist him or herself, their estate or a copyright management organization). The Musée will not provide any photographic document without proof of authorization to reproduce it. Therefore, if the Musée does not already own the reproduction rights of the work, it is up to the applicant to obtain them and to provide proof to the Musée.
