School programs

The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec offers school programs which include thematic tours and visual art workshops. The tours, planned around the Musée’s collection and temporary exhibitions, are aimed at pre-schoolers and primary and secondary level students. Our educational programs are designed for college and university students and incorporate various activities around our temporary exhibitions and collections.

Hydro-Québec supports the MNBAQ’s school programs for students from pre-school to high school levels.

Tour hours

Preschool, Primary and Secondary level: Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

College and University: Monday to Sunday, between 9 am to 5 pm. Wednesday until 9 pm.

Tours are one to one-and-a-half hours in length, depending on the chosen theme. Please plan on spending 10 minutes for reception and the cloakroom.

Payment

An invoice will be sent to you after your visit to the Musée.

ACCOMODATION FACILITIES

Theme visits are designed for groups of 30 students (a maximum of 36 at the secondary level). The group is divided into two and led by two guides.

In the case of kindergarten groups, it is possible to receive two classes at once, for a maximum of 40 children. The group will be divided into three and led by three guides.

For college and university students, groups exceeding 25 students are subdivided and assigned to several guides. Depending on the chosen visit, the maximum capacity varies between 50 and 125 students.

Lunch room

School groups can bring their lunches and eat at the Musée. Reservations are required.

Confirmation

The Museum will send written confirmation of your booking containing all the details necessary to ensure that your visit runs smoothly. A confirmation will be sent to you approximately one month before your visit.

Cancellation POLICY

Please notify us as soon as possible in the event of a change or cancellation. A fee of $90 per guide is charged for a cancellation within 14 days of the visit date. Please note that if the number of participants falls below the minimum of 15 people, the group rate will not be applied.

TOUR CAPACITY

Maximum of 25 adults per guide. Several subgroups can follow the same guided visit at a time. Each subgroup will be assigned its own guide.
The total capacity varies according to the guided visit and the availability of the guides for the date and time requested.

CLOAKROOM

Free. Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled visit time if you need to use the cloakroom.
